Gene

Gene

A unit of DNA contains the information to specify the synthesis of a single polypeptide chain or functional RNA (tRNA).

The fundamental, physical, and functional unit of heredity. Some genes act as an instruction to make a molecule known as protein. However, some genes do not code for protein. In Humans gene size vary from a few hundred nucleotides base pairs to million base pairs.

 Central dogma

The process of transcription of  Gene into mRNA and translation of mRNA into protein is known as the central dogma. The central dogma is a flow to information.

Transcription

The process in which the information of a specific part of DNA (gene) is copied into mRNA.Transcription is carried out by the Enzymes known as RNA Polymerase.

Translation

The process in which mRNA is translated into a protein with the help of enzymes and nuclear machinery known as translation.
